Position Summary

The Ranger/Project Lead Biodiversity role is a full-time, fixed-term position with Te Papa Atawhai in New Zealand (nationwide) (nationwide). This opportunity runs through to June 2027 and may be extended based on ongoing funding. The successful candidate will lead meaningful initiatives aimed at protecting Aotearoa New Zealand (nationwide) (nationwide)’s unique conservation values.

What You'll Do

• Partner with iwi, communities, and key stakeholders to deliver positive conservation outcomes.
• Develop and implement biodiversity projects that align with the organization's goals.
• Ensure all initiatives are in line with Aotearoa New Zealand (nationwide) (nationwide)’s cultural values and environmental standards.
• Evaluate project effectiveness and contribute to ongoing improvement strategies.

What You Bring

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in conservation, ecology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
• Strong knowledge of Aotearoa New Zealand (nationwide) (nationwide)’s biodiversity and conservation challenges.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
