Group Facilitator

The Group Facilitator position at Centrecare centres on guiding constructive discussions and interactive sessions that help people build resilience and practical skills. You will work on site in South Bunbury within the wider Bunbury Area, contributing to an established not-for-profit whose staff exceed 300 and that operates professional counselling, support, accommodation, mediation and training programmes from more than eleven sites across the Perth metropolitan region. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and deliver group sessions that address counselling themes, practical support strategies, mediation techniques and training content
• Create welcoming, inclusive environments where every participant feels heard and able to contribute safely
• Prepare session outlines, resource materials and follow-up activities tailored to group needs
• Observe group dynamics, offer gentle guidance when required and track progress toward shared goals
• Maintain accurate session notes and share relevant insights with internal colleagues while protecting confidentiality
• Collaborate with co-workers across counselling, accommodation and mediation teams to coordinate seamless support pathways

Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated capacity to facilitate group conversations and learning activities with clarity and warmth
• Strong verbal communication and active-listening abilities suited to diverse community settings
• Sound understanding of group dynamics, boundaries and professional ethical standards
• Empathy, cultural sensitivity and a calm approach under pressure
• Prior experience in community services, counselling support, mediation or adult education is highly regarded
• Ability to plan sessions independently, use basic digital tools for documentation and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
