Role Overview

As a Journeyman Lineman with Xcelenergy, you will apply advanced line construction and maintenance knowledge in outdoor settings around Perryton, TX 79070. The position requires technical precision, physical capability, and a commitment to safety standards while working as part of a crew. It is an on-site full-time role offering daily variety through inspection, repair, and installation activities that uphold system reliability for the local area.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Erect, inspect, and repair overhead distribution lines and associated hardware using climbing techniques or aerial devices
• Install and maintain underground cable systems, transformers, and related electrical components
• Operate specialized equipment such as digger derricks, bucket trucks, and tensioning tools to complete assignments
• Respond promptly to service interruptions, diagnose faults, and restore functionality under varied weather conditions
• Perform rigging, framing poles, and stringing conductors while adhering to strict safety protocols and clearances
• Document work completed, report hazards, and collaborate with crew members to meet project timelines
• Support training of apprentices by demonstrating proper methods and reinforcing best practices

Who We're Looking For

• Proven status as a Journeyman Lineman through completed apprenticeship or equivalent certified training
• Valid commercial driver’s license with clean driving record suitable for operating heavy vehicles
• Demonstrated ability to climb poles, work at elevations, and perform rigorous physical tasks in outdoor environments
• Solid understanding of electrical distribution systems, hot-line tools, grounding procedures, and OSHA safety guidelines
• Experience reading construction drawings, staking sheets, and work orders accurately
• Capacity to communicate clearly with team members and follow both written and verbal directions
• Willingness to respond to after-hours calls when system emergencies arise in the Perryton, TX 79070 region
