Key Responsibilities
- Operate electromagnetic locating devices and related tools to detect and trace underground utility lines including gas, electric, water, sewer, and telecommunications cables.
- Review and prioritize locate requests, maps, and blueprints to plan daily routes and ensure all tickets are completed accurately and on time.
- Mark identified utility paths with color-coded paint, flags, or stakes according to industry standards and local regulations.
- Document locate findings, measurements, and photos so records remain complete for contractors and facility owners.
- Communicate courteously with excavators, property owners, and team members to confirm mark locations and resolve any discrepancies on site.
- Maintain locating equipment, vehicle, and safety gear in proper working order while following all workplace safety protocols.
- Adapt to changing weather and terrain conditions common in the Dayton, OH area while keeping a strong focus on quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education level.
