Stage Manager – Lighting Coordinator

Marple Newtown is seeking a Stage Manager and Lighting Coordinator to support our drama program at the high school level in Newtown Square, Delaware County. This part-time position plays a critical role in bringing theatrical productions to life while fostering a welcoming creative environment for student performers and technical crew members.

The Opportunity

Join Marple Newtown's drama program as the Stage Manager and Lighting Coordinator. In this part-time role, you'll manage all technical and operational elements of our theatrical productions, working closely with student performers and faculty to deliver engaging performances. This position is ideal for someone with theater experience who wants to mentor students and contribute to a thriving arts community in our school.

What You'll Do

• Oversee stage operations and manage all cueing during rehearsals and performances
• Design and execute lighting for theatrical productions
• Maintain stage equipment and technical infrastructure
• Coordinate with cast and crew to ensure smooth technical execution
• Manage preset coordination and run-of-show documentation
• Train and guide student technical crew members
• Troubleshoot technical issues during rehearsals and performances

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in stage management or technical theater production
• Proficiency with lighting design and operation
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced creative environment
• Experience working with student or educational theater preferred
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere
