Role Overview
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll take ownership of building and operating the hardware and software systems that enable Fast Switch's internal teams to work effectively. This is a hands-on position where you'll work across multiple platforms and technologies, ensuring our infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and optimized for performance. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and translate those into robust infrastructure solutions that support business operations.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure spanning on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Perform capacity planning and resource optimization to ensure efficient use of infrastructure assets
- Operationalize infrastructure systems to support cross-functional teams and internal customer needs
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency
- Document infrastructure configurations, architectures, and maintenance procedures
- Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems and resolve infrastructure issues
Requirements
- Experience administering and supporting IT infrastructure in on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments
- Strong knowledge of server operating systems, networking, and storage systems
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or equivalent)
- Experience with infrastructure automation, scripting, or infrastructure as code tools
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
