DevSecOps Engineer

You'll bridge development, security, and operations to ensure mission-critical systems reach production with enterprise-grade protection and reliability.

The Opportunity

Steampunk's AI Strike team is engineering production-ready artificial intelligence applications that require meticulous attention to both performance and security. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you'll be the critical link ensuring these systems are hardened against threats, automated for speed, and built to scale. You'll collaborate closely with AI Engineers, Application Engineers, and Data Scientists to embed security and operational excellence into every stage of the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement application security hardening protocols that protect AI systems throughout their lifecycle
• Build and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines using Terraform, Helm Charts, and complementary infrastructure-as-code tools
• Establish security controls that support production readiness while enabling developer velocity
• Partner with engineering teams to identify security vulnerabilities early and resolve them systematically
• Manage container orchestration, infrastructure configuration, and deployment automation for AI applications
• Monitor and optimize systems for security posture, reliability, and performance in production environments

Who We're Looking For

• Proven expertise in DevSecOps, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering with a strong security focus
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code platforms, especially Terraform and Kubernetes/Helm
• Deep understanding of application security principles, threat modeling, and secure development practices
• Demonstrable experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines in complex environments
• Strong scripting and automation skills in languages like Python, Go, Bash, or similar
• Experience working cross-functionally with development, data science, and security teams
