About the Role
This is a hands-on EH&S Coordinator role where you'll partner with the Corporate EH&S Manager, Division Managers, Regional Managers, and Operations Field Personnel to maintain safety and environmental standards across the company's hydroelectric projects. You'll be the connective force between corporate policy and field execution, ensuring every facility meets rigorous compliance requirements while fostering a genuine commitment to employee safety and wellbeing. Success here demands independence, clear communication, and the ability to influence teams at every organizational level.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with corporate and regional management to implement and maintain EH&S standards and protocols across hydroelectric project sites
- Develop, communicate, and support rollout of safety policies, training programs, and procedures
- Conduct facility safety audits and inspections to identify compliance gaps and potential risk areas
- Investigate safety incidents and near-misses, document findings, and recommend corrective actions
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics and compliance status
- Partner with field operations teams to ensure consistent adherence to EH&S standards and regulations
- Maintain comprehensive EH&S documentation, records, and compliance files
- Support employee safety certifications and ongoing training initiatives
Requirements
- Demonstrated professional experience in EH&S, occupational safety, or related field, preferably within energy, utilities, or industrial settings
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, compliance frameworks, and industry best practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage teams across all levels
- Organized, detail-oriented approach to documentation and record-keeping
- Self-motivated and capable of managing responsibilities independently
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites
- Preferred: EH&S certification such as CHST, CSP, or OHST
