Interventionist

Shelby County Schools is seeking a dedicated full-time Interventionist to join our team in Hickory Hill, working to support student academic growth and achievement across our school system.

What This Role Involves

As an Interventionist at Shelby County Schools, you'll play a critical role in helping students reach grade-level proficiency and develop the skills they need to thrive as engaged citizens and productive workers. Using evidence-based strategies and standards-aligned instruction, you'll work with students who need targeted academic support to close achievement gaps and build confidence in core content areas.

Your Responsibilities

• Deliver direct, focused instruction to individual students and small groups using research-based intervention strategies
• Assess student progress and use data to adapt instruction to meet each learner's needs
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to align interventions with grade-level standards and classroom instruction
• Monitor and document student growth toward academic goals
• Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success
• Participate in professional learning and implement district-approved curriculum and best practices

What You Bring

• Valid Tennessee teaching certification or eligibility in a core content area
• Strong knowledge of research-based intervention and instructional strategies
• Ability to use student data to inform instructional decisions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students who face academic challenges
