Line Cook

Raising the Bar is hiring a full-time Line Cook at our Reading, Pennsylvania location. Join our neighborhood restaurant and pub, where we focus on delivering excellent food and creating memorable experiences for every guest in Berks County and beyond.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Line Cook to join our kitchen team in Reading. This is a full-time position where you'll work in a fast-paced, guest-focused establishment that values quality, consistency, and teamwork. Reporting to our Kitchen Manager or Assistant Kitchen Manager, you'll be part of a neighborhood restaurant that has built its reputation on great food and a welcoming atmosphere.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and established standards, maintaining quality and portion consistency
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow all food safety and sanitation protocols throughout your shift
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely order completion
• Monitor food quality and presentation as dishes leave the line, making adjustments as needed
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff to coordinate service
• Assist with mise en place, inventory management, and kitchen prep as assigned

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar kitchen role
• Working knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
• Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and work in a warm kitchen environment
