Human Resource Manager

National Pen is seeking a Human Resource Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources operations at our Shelbyville, Tennessee manufacturing facility. This is a full-time, on-site position where you'll lead recruitment, employee relations, and compliance initiatives in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

About This Position

As Human Resource Manager at National Pen in Shelbyville, you'll serve as a strategic partner to plant leadership, managing the complete human resources function for our manufacturing operations. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining a skilled workforce while ensuring all HR practices comply with federal and state regulations. This role combines operational excellence with strategic talent management to support National Pen's continued growth.

Core Duties

• Oversee full-cycle recruitment, including job analysis, posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring to fill open positions in manufacturing and support functions
• Administer payroll, benefits, leave administration, and employee record management to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks aligned with company culture and legal requirements
• Coordinate employee relations activities, including performance management, discipline, and termination processes
• Evaluate HR department effectiveness and recommend improvements to processes, systems, and policies
• Partner with plant management on workforce planning, training needs, and organizational development
• Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations affecting manufacturing operations

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an HR Manager or in a similar HR leadership role, ideally in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of employment law, regulations, and best practices in recruiting and talent management
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and HR software platforms
• Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization and handle sensitive matters with discretion
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
