Position Summary

As a C++ Storage Engineer at SoftPath Technologies LLC in San Diego, you'll take ownership of storage architecture and development for mission-critical enterprise systems. You'll work across hardware generations and storage media—from SSD and HDD systems to cloud storage internals—while collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex storage challenges at scale. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain C++ storage system software and device drivers
• Implement and optimize storage protocols including NVMe and related enterprise standards
• Work with storage hardware across generations, including modern SSD and HDD architectures
• Develop and enhance cloud storage integration and internals
• Conduct performance analysis, profiling, and optimization of storage systems
• Collaborate with platform engineering teams to ensure storage reliability and scalability
• Contribute to enterprise platform engineering initiatives and tools

What You Bring

• 4–8 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ for systems-level programming
• Solid understanding of storage systems, storage protocols, and storage hardware
• Hands-on experience with NVMe, SSD/HDD internals, or cloud storage systems
• Knowledge of enterprise platform engineering and systems architecture
• Python experience for scripting, automation, or tooling
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
