Electrical Engineering Consultant 2 – Nuclear

Sargent Lundy is hiring an Electrical Engineering Consultant 2 - Nuclear in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. In this full-time leadership role, you'll manage complex electrical engineering projects for the nuclear energy sector, guiding your team through technical challenges and delivering solutions that meet the highest safety and regulatory standards.

About the Role

As an Electrical Engineering Consultant 2, you'll direct engineering initiatives for nuclear facilities and related power generation projects. This position combines technical expertise with team leadership, directing consultant-level work across electrical systems analysis, design coordination, and problem resolution. You'll work across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration and successful project delivery for our nuclear industry clients.

What You'll Do

• Direct and mentor team members on electrical engineering tasks for nuclear and power generation projects
• Investigate complex electrical system challenges, perform root cause analysis, and develop effective solutions
• Lead coordination of electrical design efforts across disciplines, ensuring compliance with NRC, IEEE, and industry standards
• Manage troubleshooting efforts for electrical systems and equipment in nuclear operations
• Oversee technical deliverables and ensure project timelines and budgets are achieved
• Work directly with clients to understand requirements and provide technical recommendations
• Support multi-discipline project teams in resolving complex electrical engineering challenges

What We're Looking For

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure in your state
• Substantial electrical engineering background, ideally with experience in nuclear or power generation
• Expertise in electrical systems, power distribution, control systems, and related infrastructure
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers
• Knowledge of nuclear regulatory requirements, industry codes, and safety standards
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management capabilities
• Experience coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines
