Sequoia Ecological Consulting seeks a full-time Project Biologist to join our team in Waldon, Contra Costa County. We're a woman-owned firm providing comprehensive ecological and environmental consulting services to government and private sector clients across California.
About the Role
As a Project Biologist, you'll support clients throughout the environmental assessment and regulatory approval process. Your contributions will help ensure projects meet ecological and legal requirements while advancing conservation and environmental stewardship goals.
What You'll Do
- Conduct wildlife surveys, fish habitat evaluations, and species assessments
- Prepare detailed environmental and biological reports for regulatory review
- Assist with environmental analysis and permitting documentation
- Coordinate with government agencies on compliance requirements and mitigation measures
- Perform botanical and habitat mapping studies as needed for projects
- Maintain thorough field records and project documentation
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Wildlife Biology, or related discipline
- Knowledge of California ecosystems, species, and environmental regulations
- Practical field experience with biological survey and assessment methods
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong writing and communication abilities
- Flexibility for field work and project site visits
