California Virtual Academy at Los Angeles is seeking a full-time, departmentalized middle school teacher for our Simi Valley campus in Ventura County. This is an eligibility pool position for teaching roles that may become available during the 2026-2027 school year as enrollment continues to grow.
About the Role
This full-time teaching position offers the opportunity to inspire middle school students through focused, subject-specific instruction. You'll deliver departmentalized lessons across multiple class periods in your subject area at our Simi Valley campus, supporting student achievement in a growing educational environment. What You'll Do
- Deliver standards-aligned, subject-specific instruction to multiple middle school classes
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans and educational materials aligned with California curriculum standards
- Assess student learning and adjust instruction based on formative and summative assessment data
- Establish positive classroom relationships and maintain effective classroom management
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to support school initiatives and student success
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and engagement
- Participate in ongoing professional development and professional learning community activities
What We're Looking For
- Valid California teaching credential or demonstrated eligibility to obtain one
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Expertise in your subject area
- Experience teaching or supporting middle school students
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities

- Ability to engage with evolving educational environments and technologies
