Foster Care Worker

Holy Cross Services is hiring a Foster Care Worker in Gaylord, Michigan, to provide compassionate case management and support to children and youth in care. This full-time position is mission-driven work that puts families at the center of everything we do.

About the Role

As a Foster Care Worker at Holy Cross Services, you'll serve as a trusted advocate and support system for children and families navigating the child welfare system. Based in our Gaylord office, you'll work across Otsego County and surrounding areas, building meaningful relationships and helping ensure the safety, stability, and wellbeing of the young people in your care. This role combines direct client support with careful coordination across schools, healthcare providers, families, and community partners.

What You'll Do

• Conduct regular home visits and assessments to monitor children's welfare and family dynamics
• Develop and implement individualized case plans focused on safety, permanency, and child development
• Maintain detailed case notes and documentation to support accurate, thorough record-keeping
• Collaborate with families, teachers, social workers, and other professionals to coordinate services and support
• Connect families with community resources, counseling, educational services, and other needed supports
• Respond to crisis situations and safety concerns with professionalism and urgency
• Advocate for children's rights and well-being throughout the case process

• Excellent problem-solving skills and sound judgment in complex situations
• Reliability and professionalism in serving vulnerable populations
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required for Otsego County travel)
