Manager, Electrical Engineering

SAAB is hiring a Manager, Electrical Engineering to lead the electrical engineering team in our Surveillance U.S. Division, located in North Pharsalia, Chenango County. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you'll drive technical excellence and build high-performing teams across one of the industry's most demanding engineering environments.

About the Role

As Manager of Electrical Engineering, you'll oversee a team of electrical engineers committed to advancing surveillance technology and mission-critical systems. This is a full-time position that combines technical leadership with strategic management, offering the opportunity to shape both people and product in a high-impact division.

What You'll Do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical rigor
• Oversee electrical engineering projects from concept through deployment, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget alignment
• Collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines and with program management to deliver integrated solutions
• Set technical direction and establish best practices for electrical design, testing, and validation
• Identify staffing needs, recruit top engineering talent, and build team capability for current and future programs
• Manage technical risk and drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and methodologies

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a management or lead role
• Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams in complex, regulated environments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success collaborating across functional teams
• Knowledge of electrical systems design, testing, and quality assurance standards
• Familiarity with program management and project lifecycle disciplines
