Java Full Stack Developer (W2 contract only)

SWI is hiring a Java Full Stack Developer for a full-time W2 contract position in Holyoke, Hampden County, Massachusetts. This is a 12-month role (extendable) requiring hands-on Java expertise and commitment to on-site collaboration.

About the Role

As a Java Full Stack Developer at SWI, you'll design, build, and maintain end-to-end applications using modern Java frameworks and technologies. This role bridges backend systems and user-facing interfaces, requiring proficiency across the entire development stack. You'll work on a collaborative team, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical decisions that shape our platform architecture.

What You'll Do

• Develop robust backend services using Java 17 or 21
• Build responsive front-end interfaces integrated with core application logic
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features on schedule
• Debug and optimize application performance across all layers
• Participate in design reviews and technical planning sessions

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree (required)
• Strong proficiency in Java 17 or Java 21
• Hands-on experience with full-stack web application development
• Familiarity with relational databases and modern web technologies
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Must be available for on-site interviews and work in Holyoke, MA
• W2 employment status only (1099 and contract-to-hire arrangements not considered)
