Hyatt Place Virginia Beach Town Center is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Person to join our team in Norfolk, Norfolk City. As a full-time member of our facilities team, you'll play a vital role in keeping our hotel running smoothly and ensuring our guests enjoy a comfortable, well-maintained property.
About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Maintenance Person to manage the upkeep and repair of our hospitality facility. You'll respond to maintenance requests, conduct preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot issues across all building systems. This is your opportunity to make a real impact on the guest experience by maintaining our property to the highest standards.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment
- Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests and work orders
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
- Diagnose and repair common facility issues, or coordinate with specialized contractors when needed
- Maintain maintenance records and document all work completed
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and hotel operational requirements
- Support the housekeeping and front-of-house teams with facility-related needs
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in hotel, hospitality, or multi-unit facility maintenance
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Physical ability to lift, climb, and work in various environments throughout the property
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset
- Valid driver's license (preferred)
