Pitt County Schools is seeking a dedicated full-time EC Teacher Assistant to join the team at C M Eppes Middle School. In this support staff position, you'll work alongside special education teachers to provide meaningful support to students with diverse learning needs in a middle school environment.
About the Role
As an EC Teacher Assistant at C M Eppes Middle School, you'll play an essential role in creating an inclusive classroom where every student can succeed. You'll work under the supervision of special education teachers to deliver direct support to students with disabilities and developmental needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
What You'll Do
- Provide one-on-one and small-group instructional support to students in special education classrooms
- Assist with implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and classroom accommodations
- Support classroom management and maintain a safe, positive learning environment
- Help students with academic tasks, communication, and social-emotional development
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations with special education teachers
- Prepare instructional materials and organize classroom resources
- Support students with activities of daily living and self-care skills as appropriate
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support student success

- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work effectively with students with disabilities and diverse learning styles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, compassion, and commitment to student success
- Reliability and ability to work as part of a school team
- Willingness to follow classroom procedures and support teacher directives
- Physical ability to assist students and move around the classroom throughout the day
