About the Role
As an Educational Assistant with Dayton Area School Consortium, you will play a vital part in enhancing the educational experience for students under the direction of classroom teachers and building administrators. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on student success while contributing to an inclusive, supportive learning environment across Montgomery County Educational Service Center programs.
What You'll Do
- Provide instructional support to students in classroom settings, including one-on-one and small group assistance
- Support differentiated learning activities tailored to individual student needs and abilities
- Assist with classroom management and maintain a positive, safe learning environment
- Help implement lesson plans and educational activities designed by classroom teachers
- Work with students requiring additional academic or behavioral support
- Document student progress and communicate observations to teaching staff
- Support inclusive practices that meet the diverse needs of all learners
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and family communications
- Assist with classroom materials, technology setup, and organizational tasks
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to supporting all students
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with teachers and school staff
- Willingness to support students with varying learning styles and abilities
- Reliable attendance and professional demeanor
- Clearance through standard background check process
- Prior experience working with students or in educational settings is valued
