10161: Freight Handler Part-Time

FedEx Freight is hiring a Freight Handler (Job Code 10161) in Sparks, Washoe County. This is a full-time warehouse position working the 3 PM to 9 PM shift, starting at $22.26 per hour. You'll be a key part of our dock operations team, ensuring freight moves safely and accurately through our facility.

About the Role

As a Freight Handler at our Sparks warehouse, you're essential to our daily operations. You'll manage the movement of shipments in and out of trailers, maintain dock organization, and keep our freight operations running smoothly during your evening shift.

What You'll Do

• Load and unload freight from trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment
• Move cargo across the dock between trailers, staging areas, and loading zones
• Check shipment documentation to confirm it matches the freight (including weight, contents, and hazmat classification)
• Handle hazardous materials according to safety and regulatory guidelines
• Support team coordination and maintain a safe, efficient dock environment

What We're Looking For

• Physical ability to perform demanding warehouse work in a fast-paced setting
• Experience with or willingness to be trained on material handling equipment
• Strong attention to detail when verifying shipment information
