About the Role
As a Horizontal Directional Drill Operator, you'll operate our drilling rigs to execute critical underground infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on position where you'll demonstrate precision and skill, managing complex directional drilling operations while maintaining our commitment to safety and project quality.
What You'll Do
- Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment in accordance with company standards and safety regulations
- Monitor drilling progress, depth control, and directional alignment throughout each project phase
- Manage drill string assembly, rig positioning, and equipment adjustments in the field
- Conduct thorough pre-operation inspections and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Collaborate with crew members to complete projects on schedule and within budget
- Maintain detailed operational logs and documentation
- Adhere to all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols
- Work on pipeline, utility crossing, and infrastructure projects across the region
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience operating horizontal directional drilling equipment
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety
- Physical capability to perform field operations and equipment handling
- Ability to work full-time in outdoor conditions and varying weather
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and effective team contributor
- Willingness to travel for project assignments
