Laboratory Manager

Veolia North America is hiring a Laboratory Manager in Griffing, Jefferson County. This full-time position leads laboratory operations, ensures adherence to quality standards, and manages a technical team supporting water, waste, and environmental management services across the region.

About the Role

As Laboratory Manager, you'll oversee daily laboratory operations in Griffing, directing testing procedures that meet strict industry standards and regulatory requirements. You'll supervise qualified technicians, coordinate sample analysis workflows, maintain testing equipment, and drive operational improvements that enhance lab efficiency and analytical accuracy. Your leadership will be critical to supporting environmental testing and water quality monitoring services for Veolia's clients.

What You'll Do

• Direct laboratory operations, managing sample intake, testing protocols, and result documentation
• Supervise and develop laboratory technicians and support personnel
• Enforce compliance with environmental regulations, occupational safety standards, and laboratory certifications
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy
• Review analytical results for quality assurance and regulatory compliance
• Manage lab inventory and procurement of supplies, reagents, and equipment
• Compile technical reports and regulatory documentation for agencies and clients
• Evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance laboratory performance

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, environmental science, biology, microbiology, or related field
• Substantial experience in laboratory management, technical supervision, or senior lab roles
• Demonstrated expertise in water quality testing, environmental analysis, or comparable laboratory work
• Proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or similar data platforms
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical capabilities
• Professional certification (Professional Engineer, Certified Laboratory Manager, or state certifications) a plus
• Ability to work at our Griffing, Jefferson County location
