Genetix Biotherapeutics is hiring a Sr Scientist, Analytical Sciences for its Somerville, Middlesex County office. This is a full-time position where you'll lead analytical development and characterization efforts for our innovative gene therapy pipeline.
About the Role
As a Senior Scientist in Analytical Sciences, you'll take a leadership role within our analytical development team. You'll drive the strategy and execution of analytical method development, characterization, and quality oversight across our gene therapy programs. Your work directly supports the translation of breakthrough science into curative treatments that transform patients' lives.
What You'll Do
- Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods for gene therapy characterization and release testing
- Design and execute analytical studies across preclinical, development, and manufacturing phases
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with process development, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs teams
- Establish and maintain analytical standards and best practices aligned with regulatory guidelines
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to building and strengthening the analytical sciences team
- Generate technical reports and regulatory documentation for IND and BLA submissions
- Evaluate and implement emerging analytical technologies relevant to gene therapy programs
What We're Looking For
- PhD or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Sciences, or related discipline
- 8+ years of industry experience in analytical method development and characterization
- Demonstrated expertise in analytical techniques such as chromatography, mass spectrometry, or molecular analysis
- Proven success leading analytical projects and managing technical teams
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements (ICH, FDA guidelines) for analytical work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and cross-functional audiences
- Experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing or biotech development valued
