About the Role
Harrison Consulting Solutions is seeking an Architect to lead the design and planning of advanced laboratory and high-tech facilities. This is a full-time position based in Milwaukee, offering the opportunity to shape innovative workspace solutions where scientific and educational work thrives.
What You'll Do
- Design comprehensive plans for laboratory and high-tech facilities serving research and teaching programs
- Develop flexible planning grids and spatial frameworks that optimize laboratory functionality and future adaptability
- Create laboratory organization diagrams that improve workflow efficiency and support operational needs
- Establish service distribution concepts for laboratory utilities, infrastructure, and technical systems
- Document and specify laboratory systems, including casework, equipment installations, and related technical components
- Collaborate with engineering specialists and clients to ensure designs meet functional, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in multidisciplinary design teams, coordinating architectural solutions with MEP and laboratory specialists
What We're Looking For
- Professional architectural licensure (AIA or equivalent)
- Proven experience designing laboratory and high-tech facilities
- Expertise in laboratory planning, layout optimization, and code compliance
- Proficiency with CAD and laboratory design software
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication abilities with clients, colleagues, and engineering partners
- Knowledge of laboratory operations, safety standards, and research facility requirements
