About the Role

As Principal Engineer, Design Validation, you'll lead a strategic function responsible for establishing and scaling design validation approaches across medical device and surgical system programs. This is a hands-on technical leadership position where you'll shape validation methodology, mentor engineering teams, and directly influence product development strategy for next-generation navigation and robotic surgical technologies.

What You'll Do

• Develop integrated design validation strategies for complex medical devices and systems
• Lead design validation activities for advanced surgical robotics and navigation programs
• Establish best practices, standards, and processes for design validation across programs
• Mentor and lead engineering teams through validation planning and execution
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout the validation lifecycle
• Collaborate with product development, regulatory, and quality teams to optimize validation approaches

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline (Master's preferred)
• 12+ years of professional experience in design validation, engineering, or related technical roles
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional engineering teams
• In-depth knowledge of medical device design validation methodologies and regulatory frameworks (FDA, IEC, ISO)
• Experience with surgical device, robotics, or navigation system validation
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop scalable validation processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
