Jack Morton is looking for a Design Director to join our team. Our ideal candidate has a history of developing award-winning Environmental Designs and has experience leading a team of designers. We are looking for someone with the ability to generate thoughtful design concepts that translate into compelling branded live experiences. Stage and event experience are a plus for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. • Design immersive, compelling 3D environments to house branded experiences 

• Present concepts to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner 

• Immerse yourself in the brand and audience to inspire your design 

• Be responsible, organized and accountable the work of your team 

• Understanding of materials, building techniques and construction drawings 

• Create control packages for estimation 

• Understand how to work within budgets and regulations  

• Ability to lead and mentor a team  

• Communicate feedback to team members in a constructive fashion 

• Collaborate within the Creative department and across the organization 

• Communicate with clarity, confidence, competence, professionalism and authenticity 

• Stay current with design trends and apply them to your work where relevant 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Directly supervises 1-5 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience                     

BA or BFA in Industrial Design, Architecture, Scenic Design, or other relevant degree; or 10+ years relevant design and experiential marketing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   

 . Other Skills and Abilities                     

• Experience with pharmaceutical clients/brands a plus 

• Strong communicator and dynamic presenter 

• Entrepreneurial and proactive 

• Passionate, ambitious, risk taker
