About Invoca
Invoca is an AI-powered revenue execution platform that brings together marketing, commerce, and contact center teams to turn every customer interaction into measurable, profitable growth. Join our dynamic, fast-growing team, where innovation and collaboration are at the core of our culture.
The Opportunity: Architecting Invoca’s Platform Foundation
As Invoca accelerates the modernization of its platform—moving from a monolith to a service-oriented architecture leveraging IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions—we are adopting a Platform as a Service strategy. This is a high-impact role where you will be instrumental in building the scalable, reliable, and widely-adopted technical foundations for our entire engineering organization. Your success will directly translate into improved engineering velocity, reduced technical debt, and clear alignment between platform investments and core business outcomes.
About the Team
You will be a key member of the Architecture team, partnering directly with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Developer Enablement teams.
- Developer Enablement: Builds, maintains, and supports the tooling, gems, libraries, CI/CD, and foundational services (like Identity) that all Invoca services rely on.
- SRE: Provides the core infrastructure, observability, and stability to enable engineering teams to build new services and scale our platform effectively.
Your Role and Impact
We are seeking a Platform Technical Product Manager (TPM) to partner with technical leadership to define the strategy, roadmap, and execution for our internal platform capabilities. This role requires a systems mindset, sitting at the intersection of engineering, architecture, and product to build scalable, reliable, and reusable platform services that power our product ecosystem.
You will partner closely with Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Data, and Product teams to ensure our platform enables fast innovation, high system reliability, and long-term scalability. This is a highly technical role that requires deep systems thinking, strong execution skills, and the ability to translate business needs into robust technical solutions. You will report to the Director of Product & Engineering Operations in this role.
- Platform Strategy & Vision: Partner to define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for core platform services (e.g., APIs, infrastructure, identity, observability, internal tooling), ensuring platform investments directly align with company-level product and business goals.
- Technical Debt & Velocity: Proactively identify and champion opportunities to reduce technical debt, improve platform scalability, and accelerate overall development velocity across the organization.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with engineering leaders to define architectural direction and platform standards. Collaborate with Product Managers and other stakeholders to understand platform dependencies and drive alignment across multiple engineering teams. Work closely with security, compliance, and platform teams to ensure platform reliability and governance.
- Roadmap & Execution: Translate platform strategy into clear, prioritized roadmaps and technical requirements (product briefs, epics, user stories). Define and track success metrics, including SLAs, performance benchmarks, and internal adoption rates.
- Technical Decision-Making: Evaluate complex build vs. borrow vs. buy decisions and vendor integrations. Participate in architectural reviews and design discussions, leveraging a deep understanding of APIs, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and data architectures.
- Platform Adoption & Enablement: Ensure platform services are well-documented, discoverable, and user-friendly. Actively gather internal customer feedback to continuously improve the overall developer experience and track and improve platform adoption across engineering teams.
Core Qualifications (What You’ll Need)
We are looking for a proven track record of impact and experience, recognizing that this is not always tied to a strict number of years.
- Experience & Impact:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a platform, infrastructure, or other engineering-heavy role, which includes 2+ years of dedicated Product Management experience. (Equivalent experience leading complex technical initiatives is highly valued).
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex, cross-team technical initiatives in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Exceptional prioritization and decision-making skills with an analytical, data-driven approach.
- Technical Fluency:
- Strong working knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and data platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and system reliability principles.
- Ability to read technical documentation and engage credibly in architecture-level design discussions.
- Soft Skills & Leadership:
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority across multiple technical teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate technical trade-offs to both engineers and business stakeholders.
Bonus Experience (Great to Have)
- Experience building platforms in high-scale or enterprise SaaS environments.
- Background in software engineering or technical architecture.
- Experience with observability, identity, security, or internal developer platforms.
- Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure or data-intensive systems.
- Experience supporting enterprise-grade security and compliance standards.
