About the Role
As a Performance Measurement and Evaluation Intern at NYC Kids Rise, you'll support critical evaluation work for the Save for College Program—a collaborative initiative between NYC Kids Rise, the City of New York, and the NYC Department of Education. This internship will expose you to program assessment, data analysis, and evaluation methodology while working with an accomplished nonprofit team.
What You'll Do
- Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing program data related to student outcomes and program performance
- Support the development and tracking of key performance indicators and evaluation metrics
- Help prepare reports, dashboards, and visualizations that communicate evaluation findings
- Conduct preliminary data quality checks and assist with data cleaning efforts
- Support evaluation team members in designing and implementing surveys or assessment tools
- Document program activities and outcomes to inform continuous improvement efforts
What We're Looking For
- Current student or recent college graduate with interest in nonprofit work, evaluation, or education
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with ability to work with data accurately
- Proficiency in Excel or familiarity with basic data analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Genuine interest in education equity and college access initiatives
About NYC Kids Rise
NYC Kids Rise is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding college savings access for eligible students in New York City public schools. Working in partnership with the City of New York and the NYC Department of Education, we manage the Save for College Program, which helps students from kindergarten onward build savings for higher education.
