Athletic Trainer

Join Bassett Unified School District as an Athletic Trainer at Bassett High School, where you'll support student athletes' health, safety, and recovery. About the Role

We're seeking a dedicated Athletic Trainer to deliver injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for our student-athlete population. Working 6 hours daily, Monday through Friday (2:30 PM – 9:00 PM, with flexible scheduling for athletic competitions), you'll be the frontline medical professional ensuring student athletes can compete safely and recover quickly. This 10.5-month part-time role is ideal for certified athletic trainers balancing professional commitments.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate and manage acute and chronic athletic injuries using evidence-based assessment techniques
• Develop and oversee individualized rehabilitation programs to help athletes return to play safely
• Provide emergency first aid and trauma care during practices, games, and events
• Educate student athletes on injury prevention strategies and proper conditioning techniques
• Maintain detailed medical records and injury documentation to track athlete progress
• Collaborate with coaches, school nurses, and physicians to coordinate comprehensive athlete care
• Manage athletic training equipment and facilities to maintain a safe training environment
• Attend athletic competitions to provide on-site medical coverage and sideline support

What We're Looking For

• Current Athletic Training certification (ATC) or eligible for California licensure
• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related clinical field
• Proven experience delivering injury care and rehabilitation in a high school or competitive sports setting
• Strong knowledge of sports medicine, emergency care protocols, and athlete safety standards
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with coaches, athletes, and families
• Ability to work evening hours and accommodate flexible scheduling for athletic events
