About the Role
As a Dietary Aide, you'll be an essential part of our nutrition services team at our Tallahassee facility. This full-time position supports the dietary department in delivering nutritious meals and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and preparation for our residents in our rehabilitation and nursing center.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and portion meals according to established recipes, dietary specifications, and nutritional guidelines
- Serve meals to residents in dining areas and patient rooms, ensuring proper presentation and temperature
- Assist with food inventory, storage, and stock rotation following food safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining environment, adhering to health and safety standards
- Support dietary staff with general kitchen duties, including dishwashing, cleanup, and equipment maintenance
- Document meal counts and dietary observations as required
- Respond to resident requests and communicate dietary needs to dietary supervisors and nursing staff
- Assist in accommodating special diets and texture-modified meals for residents with specific health requirements
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work full-time hours, including occasional weekends or holidays as needed
- Physical capability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods
- Basic food safety knowledge and commitment to sanitation standards
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Genuine care and respect for older adults and those with medical conditions
- Reliability and attention to detail
