About the Role
We're seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper to manage the financial operations and accounting records for our school district. In this full-time position, you'll play an essential role in maintaining accurate financial documentation and supporting the district's administrative team.
What You'll Do
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and financial documentation
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
- Support budget tracking and financial reporting processes
- Record journal entries and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Prepare financial summaries and reports as requested
- Assist with year-end closing procedures and audit preparation
- Respond to account inquiries and provide financial information to staff
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- Demonstrated bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
- Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with school district staff
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
