CAD Technician

KBR is hiring a CAD Technician for our Chantilly, Fairfax County office to support advanced engineering and technology solutions serving the intelligence and national security sectors. This is a full-time position where you'll contribute to mission-critical work protecting national security through precision technical design and documentation.

About the Role

As a CAD Technician at KBR, you'll be part of our National Security Solutions team, playing a vital role in developing high-end engineering solutions for our government and intelligence community customers. Your technical drawings and design documentation will directly support complex engineering projects with significant national impact.

What You'll Do

• Create and modify technical drawings, designs, and specifications using industry-standard CAD software
• Prepare detailed design documentation, schematics, and layouts for engineering projects
• Support senior engineers by translating concepts into accurate technical renderings
• Maintain design standards and ensure all work meets company and customer specifications
• Collaborate with engineering teams to refine designs and resolve technical issues
• Archive and organize CAD files and project documentation
• Assist with design reviews and quality assurance processes

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent platforms
• Strong understanding of technical drawing standards and industry conventions
• Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, precise technical documentation
• Experience reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Strong communication skills and aptitude for following detailed technical specifications
• Technical mindset with solid problem-solving abilities
• Valid security clearance or eligibility to obtain one preferred
