Control System Engineer, Subject Matter Expert

Daikin is seeking a Control System Engineer and Subject Matter Expert to design, develop, and optimize embedded control firmware for advanced HVAC systems at our Waller, Harris County facility. This full-time position offers an opportunity to lead next-generation controls engineering within the world's largest heating, ventilation, and air conditioning manufacturer.

About the Role

As a Control System Engineer and Subject Matter Expert, you'll serve as the technical authority driving embedded firmware and intelligent control algorithms for HVAC equipment deployed globally. Based in Greater Houston, you'll partner directly with mechanical and thermal engineering teams to translate complex system requirements into production-ready firmware that powers mission-critical climate control applications. This is a hands-on role that demands deep expertise in control systems and the confidence to mentor and guide engineering peers.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement embedded firmware and control algorithms for next-generation HVAC systems
• Partner with mechanical and thermal engineers to understand system behavior and electromechanical operating principles
• Develop and optimize advanced control mechanisms that maximize equipment performance and reliability
• Lead the definition and refinement of control system requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Execute comprehensive testing, validation, and troubleshooting of control hardware and firmware integration
• Create clear technical documentation and system architecture specifications for engineering teams

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
• Proven expertise developing embedded firmware for industrial, HVAC, or electromechanical systems
• Strong foundational knowledge of real-time control principles and electromechanical system behavior
• Production-level proficiency with embedded languages including C, C++, and assembly
• Demonstrated experience with real-time operating systems and industrial control standards
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and provide technical leadership to engineering teams
