About the Role
As Evening Custodian at Central Avenue School, you'll be the backbone of our facility operations during evening hours. Your work directly supports Madison Public Schools' commitment to providing students, educators, and staff with a welcoming, hygienic, and secure learning environment every single day.
What You'll Do
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas according to established protocols
- Maintain building systems, including heating, ventilation, and boiler equipment
- Inspect facilities for maintenance needs and report issues to appropriate personnel
- Ensure all areas meet health and safety standards
- Secure the facility and perform end-of-day closing procedures
- Work independently and take ownership of your assigned space
What We're Looking For
- Certification of good health, verified by a licensed physician
- Ability to read and write basic operating instructions
- Black Seal Low Pressure boiler operator license, or willingness to obtain one
- Strong work ethic and commitment to cleanliness and facility maintenance
- Reliability and ability to work evening shifts independently
- Attention to safety protocols and attention to detail
