Teller – Float (Milford, CT)

M&T Bank is hiring a Full Time Teller – Float to join our Milford, Connecticut branch network. In this role, you'll deliver excellent customer service across multiple locations in New Haven County, processing transactions with precision while supporting branch teams.

The Opportunity

As a Float Teller at M&T Bank, you'll play a key role in our branch customer experience by working across multiple locations within our designated service area. This position combines traditional teller responsibilities with digital banking support, lobby operations, and direct customer service. Float tellers are essential to our branch network, providing flexibility and coverage where needed while maintaining the high service standards M&T Bank customers expect.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Process customer deposits, withdrawals, and other financial transactions with accuracy and efficiency
• Provide retail banking services and assistance to walk-in and drive-through customers
• Engage customers in both in-person and digital banking channels, explaining products and services
• Manage lobby operations, including maintaining appearance and greeting customers professionally
• Travel to assigned branches within the New Haven County area to support staff and maintain service levels
• Handle cash handling, vault operations, and verify transaction accuracy
• Build customer relationships and resolve routine inquiries or concerns

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Proven customer service experience in a fast-paced environment
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel between branches within the service area
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn banking systems quickly
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and security protocols
