Windsor County Youth Services is seeking a dedicated Advocate for second shift and weekend coverage in Proctorsville, Windsor County. This full‑time position provides direct care and support to youth residents during evening and weekend hours.
About the Role
As an Advocate you will work closely with residents to promote safety, wellbeing, and personal growth. The role operates on rotating second‑shift schedules that include weekends, ensuring consistent support when youth need it most.
What You'll Do
- Offer hands‑on care, emotional support, and supervision for residents throughout your shift.
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups that incorporate trauma‑informed principles to help youth develop coping skills.
- Complete all required shift documentation in the agency’s electronic filing system and communicate essential details to the next team.
- Assist with general house management, keeping shared spaces clean, orderly, and welcoming for everyone.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices in youth services.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with adolescents or young adults in a residential, counseling, or community setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with diverse youth.
- Familiarity with trauma‑informed approaches and psychoeducational group facilitation.
- Detail‑oriented with comfortable use of electronic record‑keeping systems.
- Reliability to work scheduled second‑shift hours, including weekends, as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant college coursework or certifications are a plus.
