Family Life Counseling & Psychiatric Services is seeking a dedicated MRSS - Mobile Response Stabilization Services Professional to join our team in Norwalk, Huron County.

About the Role

This full-time position focuses on delivering rapid, community‑based crisis support to individuals and families experiencing acute mental health challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Perform on‑scene safety evaluations to determine immediate risk levels.
  • Deliver rapid crisis de‑escalation using proven intervention techniques.
  • Offer peer support and guide clients through practical skill‑building exercises.
  • Work with the individual’s family and support network to create a short‑term stabilization plan.
  • Complete thorough documentation of contacts, assessments, and recommendations per agency guidelines.
  • Liaise with emergency departments, law enforcement, and community partners when higher levels of care are required.
  • Attend regular training and supervision sessions to stay current on mobile crisis best practices.

What We're Looking For

  • Hold an active mental health license or be license‑eligible (e.g., LPC, LSW, LMFT, or comparable credential).
  • Possess prior experience working in psychiatric emergency, crisis stabilization, or community mental health settings.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal abilities to engage distressed individuals and families with compassion.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel throughout Huron County.
  • Be available to work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends, to ensure coverage.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to all professional and ethical standards.
