F-35 Test Pilot-Level 5

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Full-Time F-35 Test Pilot-Level 5 to join its Flight Operations team in Lakeside, Tarrant County.

About the Role

This position places you at the forefront of evaluating and validating the F-35 Lightning II platform, working closely with engineers, maintenance crews, and program leaders to ensure flight safety and performance excellence.

What You'll Do

• Conduct experimental and validation flights on F-35 variants to gather performance data.
• Prepare detailed flight test reports and debrief findings with multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist in developing test procedures, risk assessments, and safety plans.
• Provide technical feedback to improve aircraft systems and flight characteristics.
• Mentor junior pilots and support knowledge transfer within the flight test community.
• Maintain currency with FAA regulations, military flight standards, and Lockheed Martin safety protocols.

What We're Looking For

• Current FAA pilot license with instrument rating; military pilot background preferred.
• Extensive experience flying high-performance jet aircraft, preferably fighter or attack platforms.
• Prior involvement in flight test, weapons testing, or experimental aviation programs.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret flight data and communicate results clearly.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced engineering environment.
