What You'll Do

  • Lead the development of base building packages, including façade, structural, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to resolve design conflicts and maintain schedule integrity.
  • Produce detailed drawings, specifications, and BIM models using Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including accessibility and energy standards.
  • Mentor junior architects and interns, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.
  • Participate in client presentations and stakeholder workshops to communicate design intent and performance metrics.
  • Support the firm’s pursuit of sustainable design by integrating energy‑efficient strategies and tracking performance metrics.

What We're Looking For

  • A professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) and licensure as a Registered Architect in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in base building design, with a proven track record on higher education, government, or commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and the Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Navisworks for clash detection is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, construction methods, and detailing practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving project requirements.
  • Commitment to collaborative design processes and a passion for creating environments that enhance user experience.
