Swine Multi Technician

Hugoson Pork is seeking a Full‑time Swine Multi Technician to join its team in Granada, Martin County.

About the Role

This position supports the core pork production operations by focusing on the farrowing and gestation areas of the farm. The technician works closely with the livestock team to ensure animals receive consistent care throughout their reproductive cycles.

What You'll Do

• Perform daily husbandry tasks in farrowing and gestation barns, including feeding, watering, and monitoring animal health.
<li Assist with sow and piglet care during farrowing, providing support to maintain newborn vitality.
• Observe and record reproductive performance, noting estrus, breeding, and pregnancy status.
• Maintain clean, biosecure environments by following sanitation protocols and managing bedding.
• Operate and perform routine checks on feeding and ventilation equipment to ensure optimal barn conditions.
• Communicate observations and concerns to supervisors and veterinary staff promptly.
• Participate in training sessions and stay current on best practices for swine welfare and production efficiency.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working with swine or other livestock in a farm setting is preferred.
• Comfortable handling animals and performing physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate record keeping and health monitoring.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and biosecurity measures consistently.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude toward team members.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays as needed.
• Basic understanding of animal nutrition, reproduction, and health indicators.
