Quality Assurance Tech First Shift

Kings Command Foods is hiring a Part‑Time Quality Assurance Tech First Shift for its facility in Versailles, Darke County.

About the Role

In this position you will support the plant’s commitment to safe, high‑quality meat products by performing routine checks, documenting results, and communicating findings to the production team during the first shift.

What You'll Do

• Operate handheld radios to relay inspection status and alerts to supervisors and line workers.
• Read and record digital thermometer readings accurately to verify product temperatures at critical control points.
• Complete written quality logs, deviation reports, and corrective action forms with clear, legible entries.
• Conduct visual and tactile inspections of raw materials, in‑process items, and finished goods to detect defects or contamination.
• Assist with calibration and maintenance of QA equipment such as thermometers, scales, and pH meters.
• Participate in daily GMP and HACCP audits, helping to ensure compliance with federal and state food safety regulations.
• Notify the QA lead or shift manager immediately of any out‑of‑specification results or safety concerns.
• Support training of new operators on basic quality checks and proper documentation practices.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in food science, microbiology, or a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing, meat processing, or quality control environment preferred but not required.
• Ability to communicate clearly over two‑way radio equipment and follow verbal instructions.
• Proficiency reading digital measurement devices and recording data accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain legible written records under time pressure.
• Basic math skills for calculating averages, percentages, and pass/fail thresholds.
• Willingness to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in a refrigerated production area.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work the scheduled first‑shift hours on a part‑time basis.
