About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform routine upkeep and responsive repairs across our multifamily properties, ensuring that all building systems operate efficiently and that residents enjoy a high quality of living. This full‑time position reports to the maintenance supervisor and plays a key role in preserving property value and resident satisfaction.
What You'll Do
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance systems
- Respond promptly to resident work orders, diagnosing issues and completing repairs to restore functionality
- Perform routine tasks such as filter changes, light fixture replacements, lock repairs, and minor carpentry
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and service completion in the property management system
- Assist with unit turnovers between residents, including cleaning, painting, and verifying that all amenities are operational
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, and company policies while using tools and equipment
- Participate in after‑hour on‑call rotation as needed to address emergency situations
- Collaborate with property management and vendors to coordinate larger projects or specialized services
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in residential or commercial maintenance, with familiarity in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to prioritize multiple work orders efficiently
- Basic knowledge of building codes and safety standards related to multifamily housing
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for travel between community sites
- Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude when interacting with residents
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school training is a plus
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
