About the Role
The Worship Pastor partners with church leadership to create meaningful worship experiences that engage a congregation averaging around 500 attendees each week. This role blends musical direction, pastoral care, and team development within a non‑denominational setting.
What You'll Do
- Plan, rehearse, and lead weekly worship services, including special events and seasonal celebrations.
- Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers and musicians across vocal and instrumental teams.
- Select and arrange music that aligns with the church’s theological vision and worship flow.
- Collaborate with preaching and teaching staff to ensure worship supports the sermon series and discipleship goals.
- Oversee technical aspects of worship, such as sound, lighting, and multimedia, working closely with the production team.
- Provide pastoral guidance to worship team members, fostering spiritual growth and healthy relationships.
- Manage the worship budget, coordinate licensing for songs, and maintain equipment inventory.
- Stay current with worship trends and incorporate innovative practices that resonate with diverse generations.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading worship in a midsized church environment, preferably with a weekly attendance of 400‑600.
- Strong musical proficiency on at least one primary instrument (e.g., piano, guitar) and vocal ability.
- Demonstrated skill in building and developing volunteer teams.
- A heart for pastoral ministry, with the ability to counsel and encourage team members.
- Familiarity with worship planning software, audio/visual basics, and copyright licensing (e.g., CCLI).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
- A personal faith commitment consistent with the church’s non‑denominational, evangelical stance.
- Bachelor’s degree in music, worship studies, theology, or related field; equivalent practical experience considered.
