What You'll Do

  • Conceptualize, shoot, and edit short‑form and long‑form video content for Opinion features, including interviews, explainers, and visual essays.
  • Collaborate with Opinion editors to develop storyboards that align with editorial voice and visual standards.
  • Manage the end‑to‑end production process, from pre‑production planning and logistics to post‑production editing, color grading, and sound mixing.
  • Stay current with emerging video formats and platform‑specific best practices to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet The New York Times’ rigorous fact‑checking and ethical guidelines.
  • Archive and tag assets for future use, maintaining an organized media library.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a video producer or multimedia journalist, preferably within a news or opinion environment.
  • Strong proficiency with professional camera equipment, lighting, and audio capture.
  • Expertise in industry‑standard editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve.
