In a nutshell 

In this role, you’ll be supporting the Commercial team responsible for shaping the product assortment that puts a smile on our customers’ faces 😊. As a Commercial Working Student, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute in one of three core teams: Trading, Promo, or Private Label – each offering a unique area of focus and impact.

Here’s what you can expect in each team:

  • 📊Trading Team: You’ll help manage and optimize our assortment by diving into assortment data, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting range decisions. You’ll work on performance analysis, price tracking, and margin improvement – directly contributing to the success of Picnic’s product offering.
  • 🛍️Private Label Team: You’ll be involved in the full development process of our private label products. Together with a passionate team, your goal will be to select the best products for the best prices and ensure they have standout packaging and branding. You’ll collaborate with category managers, suppliers, and design agencies to bring high-quality, well-designed products to life.

Tricks of the trade

  • Cross-Functional Exposure: Collaborate closely with category managers, suppliers, buyers, and creatives to gain a well-rounded view of the Commercial team and how different functions work together.
  • Assortment Analysis: Support in analyzing assortment strategies to help ensure our product range is data-driven, relevant, and tailored to customer needs.
  • Product Development Support: Assist in product tastings and sourcing efforts to contribute to the selection of top-quality items at the best prices.
  • International Sourcing: Work with international partners and teams to help identify new sourcing opportunities and support cross-border collaboration.
  • Hands-On Experience: Get practical experience in a fast-paced, data-driven environment where ownership, curiosity, and learning by doing are key.

Your superpowers

  • Student at least in 2nd year of bachelor (HBO or WO) 
  • Education in a relevant field; Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or similar
  • Available for at least 6 months  
  • Available a minimum of 3 days p/w
  • Curious, independent, detail-oriented with a proactive mindset
  • Fluent in English and preferably in Dutch

💰Attractive package
You’ll receive a gross hourly wage of €16,75 (all inclusive), along with a laptop to support your work. Travel costs can also be reimbursed, depending on your location.
