Who we are looking for
Re:Build Manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled Senior R&D Machine Fabricator to build and design specialized custom machinery and equipment for our manufacturing operations. This fabrication-first role involves hands-on building, welding, and assembling custom equipment while creating practical designs. You will independently manage multiple R&D projects from concept through fabrication and installation, supporting Re:Build’s diverse manufacturing capabilities across multiple sites. The ideal candidate is a master fabricator who can translate ideas into functional, reliable equipment.
What you will get to do!
- Build and fabricate specialized custom machinery and equipment from concept to completion
- Perform hands-on welding, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly work
- Create practical designs, drawings, and specifications
- Modify and upgrade existing production equipment to improve performance and reliability
- Manage multiple concurrent R&D fabrication projects
- Integrate hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems into custom-built machinery
- Wire and integrate electrical components, controls, and panels
- Test and validate equipment performance, making hands-on adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with production teams and technical staff across Re:Build sites
- Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for materials and components
- Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication challenges throughout the build process
- Document builds, processes, and best practices
What you bring to the team
- 10+ years of hands-on fabrication and machinery building experience
Expert Fabrication Skills:
- Welding (MIG, TIG, and/or stick)
- Sheet metal fabrication and forming
- Equipment assembly and integration
- Hydraulic systems installation, integration, and troubleshooting
- Pneumatic systems installation, integration, and troubleshooting
- Electrical systems knowledge and practical wiring/integration capabilities
- Proven ability to build custom machinery from scratch or specifications
- Ability to create practical designs and working drawings
- Experience managing multiple fabrication projects independently
- Strong hands-on problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and safety
Preferred Qualifications
- CAD software experience (SolidWorks preferred)
- Machining experience (lathe, mill, CNC)
- Experience building equipment for diverse manufacturing environments
- Background in automation equipment or process improvement machinery
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment
Work Environment
- Primarily based at Re:Build’s Denver facility
- Majority of time in the fabrication shop building equipment
- Office/design work as needed to support projects
- Occasional travel to other Re:Build sites or suppliers
- Standard day shift, Monday through Friday
Additional Details
- Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $117,000– $174,000 per year. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.
