LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles’ third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. This presents the unique and exciting opportunity to celebrate our legacy with the Games and push the Olympic and Paralympic Movements forward, writing a new chapter of Games history in Los Angeles.

Manager, Signage
The Manager, Signage is responsible for planning, scoping, designing, and implementing temporary venue signage that guide spectators, athletes, workforce, media, and external stakeholders across competition and non-competition venues during the 2028 Summer Olympics and Paralympic Games delivered by LA28.
The ideal candidate has experience delivering signage for large-scale events or tournaments, with strong knowledge of scoping temporary signage structures, vendor coordination, and working within event overlay environments. This position requires a strong understanding of venue spatial planning and spectator flow, signage scoping expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate closely with operations teams, venue stakeholders, and external contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Delivery
- Manage all the wayfinding & signage requirements within your venue & venue cluster.
- Scope venue signage requirements for assigned competition and non-competition venues, including wayfinding and Functional Area (FA) signage.
- Develop and maintain detailed signage dot plans, identifying sign locations, quantities, and specifications to support venue operations, FA specific flows and spectator flow.
- Conduct multiple joint or separate venue site visits to validate signage locations with Venue Management, FA leads, and the Signage contractor ensuring operational alignment and accuracy.
- Coordinate with city authorities and public transportation partners to support external wayfinding planning and validate external signage or dot plans to ensure a seamless spectator journey between transport hubs and venues.
- Create and manage signage dot plans and artworks using approved signage software, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and approved terminology standards.
- Work with contractors to define signage specifications, production requirements, and installation approaches for temporary signage structures.
- Identify and scope signage requirements for venues hosting multiple sports, including planning for signage updates during sport and ceremony transitions.
- Manage and provide direction to venue managers within your cluster, ensuring consistency in signage planning, dot plans, and operational execution across all assigned venues.
- Monitor progress across multiple venues during planning and pre-Games activities, offering recommendations and corrective actions to meet schedule, quality, and operational requirements.
- Act as a point of escalation for signage-related issues, providing expert guidance on complex wayfinding, operational, or multi-sport scenarios.
Games-Time Operations
- Conduct on-site validation of all signage installation prior to venue opening to ensure correct placement, visibility, and operational readiness.
- Monitor signage effectiveness during operations and coordinate updates or adjustments to support clear wayfinding for all different Functional Area venue flows.
- Manage signage changes required for sport transitions, ensuring correct signage is installed for each sport configuration and operational phase.
- Coordinate with contractors, venue teams, and operational functions to address Games-time signage issues and maintain accurate and effective wayfinding.
- Support venue teams with troubleshooting and adjustments to signage as operational conditions evolve.
- Provide guidance to venue teams on managing signage during operational shifts, ensuring consistency across all assigned venues.
- Provide guidance and oversight to cluster venue managers during Games operations, ensuring consistent execution and adherence to brand, operational, and wayfinding standards.
- Support venue teams with real-time decisions regarding signage placement, maintenance, and adjustments to ensure a seamless spectator journey.
Installation & De-rig
- Manage contractor delivery, logistics, and installation of temporary signage across assigned venues in line with venue readiness milestones.
- Ensure all venue permissions & permits have been received before installation and dismantle commences.
- Oversee the delivery, storage, and distribution of all wayfinding & signage, including FA signage, on venue, ensuring efficient coordination with installation, FA & Venue teams.
- Ensure signage installation aligns with approved dot plans, brand requirements, and terminology standards.
- Coordinate the replacement, removal, or repositioning of signage during sport transitions where venues host multiple sports.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of signage assets during Games time operations.
- Manage signage de-rig and removal following the completion of competition and venue operations, ensuring assets are removed according to event timelines and site requirements.
- Manage cluster-level signage de-rig and removal, coordinating with venue managers to ensure efficiency, safety, and adherence to schedule.
- Support cross-venue oversight during de-rig to ensure consistency and accurate handover of assets.
Background & Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in wayfinding & signage planning, or major tournament signage delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Architecture, Environmental Design, Graphic Design, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) for planning, documentation, and reporting.
- Experience using Smartsheet or similar project management and tracking tools to manage schedules, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination.
- ADA accessibility training or certification related to signage and environmental design preferred.
- Familiarity with signage artwork production and signage planning or design software.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple venues, sports, and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of venue operations, spatial planning, and spectator movement within event environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving project environment.
- Experience working on Olympic & Paralympic games, or other large global sporting events.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to collaborate with venue teams, functional areas, external contractors, and public agencies.
- Ability to work in fast-paced and evolving operational environments with tight deadlines and changing requirements.
- Experience working within a multi-venue, multi-stakeholder environment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- The position is based in Los Angeles with in-person attendance required.
- The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment, employees must be able to work efficiently in an open-cubicle environment.
- The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
- Comfortable navigating construction areas, temporary event environments, and multi-level venues.

- On-venue work during the Games may involve outdoor environments, exposure to weather, long walking distances, and navigating crowds or active operational zones.
- Collaboration with multiple internal departments, venue teams, and external vendors under evolving project requirements.
Expectations:
- Ability to manage signage planning and delivery across multiple venues and sports simultaneously within a complex event environment.
- Strong understanding of venue operations, spatial planning, and spectator flow to support effective wayfinding systems.
- Demonstrated ability to scope and manage temporary signage programs, including coordinating production, logistics, and installation through contractors.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to validate signage locations, terminology, and brand compliance across large venue environments.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including venue operations, overlay, transport, brand, and external partners.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with evolving operational requirements and tight delivery timelines.

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 – $115,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
