Safety and Training Manager

MV Transportation is hiring a Safety and Training Manager in Griffith, Los Angeles County for a full-time position. This hands-on leadership role focuses on developing and implementing safety programs and training procedures that meet State and Federal compliance standards across our transportation operations.

About the Role

As Safety and Training Manager, you'll lead our commitment to workplace safety and professional development. This is a collaborative position where you'll design, oversee, and refine training curricula, safety protocols, and compliance initiatives that protect our team and align with industry regulations. You'll work directly with staff at all levels to foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute safety training programs and refresher courses meeting State and Federal requirements
• Establish workplace safety policies, procedures, and best practices specific to transportation operations
• Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to prevent future occurrences
• Manage compliance documentation, safety records, and regulatory reporting
• Provide coaching and mentorship to supervisors and employees on safety protocols and risk management
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and maintain current knowledge of evolving safety legislation
• Track safety metrics and performance indicators to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with operations, HR, and management to integrate safety into all business decisions

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in safety management, training program development, or transportation safety roles
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and California state safety and labor regulations
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective training content
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence across departments
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Experience in data analysis and safety metrics tracking
• Professional safety certification (CSP, ASP, or similar) preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hands-on, team-focused environment
